Privacy Policy

Danger Outside (집밖은위험해) is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains what the app handles and why.

Korean version: 개인정보 처리방침. Both describe the same policy.

1. At a glance

2. What is collected

Data Purpose Where it lives How long
Location (latitude/longitude) Looking up weather for your current location Not stored — passed along with the request Not retained
Location, neighborhood name, notification token Sending the daily weather notification Our server (Cloudflare KV) 60 days after your last app launch
Trip purpose, saved neighborhoods, notification on/off Remembering your settings On your device only Until you delete the app
Ad request data (device type, coarse region, ad impressions/clicks) Showing banner ads Google AdMob Per Google's policies

Location is read only while you are using the app. There is no background tracking. For users who have not enabled notifications, coordinates travel with the weather request and are not written to storage.

If you enable notifications, we must know where and whom to notify, so the notification token and your coordinates and neighborhood name are stored. Turning notifications off in the app deletes them immediately, and deleting the app causes them to expire within 60 days.

3. What is not collected

The app requests non-personalized ads only. It does not link your advertising identifier (IDFA) to activity in other apps or websites, and it never shows the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt.

4. Third parties

We do not sell or share personal information. We rely on the following services only as far as running the app requires.

Recipient What reaches them Why
Korea Meteorological Administration A forecast grid cell derived from your coordinates Weather, warnings, UV index
Korea Environment Corporation (AirKorea) A regional zone derived from your coordinates Fine dust readings
Cloudflare Weather requests, notification subscription data Server hosting, sending notifications
Expo, Apple (APNs) Notification token, notification content Delivering notifications
Google AdMob Ad request data (device type, coarse region) Showing banner ads

The two Korean public agencies receive grid- and region-level values, not your exact coordinates, and nothing that identifies you.

5. Your choices

To request access or deletion directly, email stothey0804@gmail.com. Because we keep no accounts, there is nothing to look up for anyone who has not enabled notifications.

6. How data is protected

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their information.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will note it in the App Store release notes and on this page. If we ever begin collecting more — for example by adding advertising or analytics — we will publish the change before it takes effect.

10. Advertising

Banner ads appear at the bottom of the main screen and inside the hourly forecast sheet. Ads are served by Google AdMob, and the app requests non-personalized ads only. The ad provider may receive information needed to serve an ad, such as device type and coarse region; that handling follows Google's advertising policies. The app is configured to accept only general-audience (G-rated) ads.
